Paris, May 3, 2022 – The 31st edition of the Tour Auto – one of the most prestigious Classic Car rallies in the world – ended on Saturday in Andorra after five days of racing through sumptuous French landscapes and more than 2,250 kms covered. On this occasion, the Carzilla team, supported by NEXUS Automotive and its partners, took a podium for the third consecutive year. The Lancia Fulvia N°19, driven by Victor Fernandes and co-driven by Gaël Escribe, obtained the second place in its category (G) and the 5th place in the general regularity classification.
In addition to the sporting performances, the Tour Auto is also a major event for the values it conveys. In this respect, the renovation and preparation of vintage vehicles is made possible by the use of original parts or parts of equivalent quality from Carzilla’s partners, thus bringing the industrial world closer to the Classic ecosystem. In this sense, classic cars are no longer seen as representatives of a niche in the automotive sector but as players in a segment in their own right.
Finally, the participation and involvement of young people in this process in collaboration with the Motul Corazon Foundation helps to encourage vocations and to make the automotive sector attractive, despite the context of talent shortages. This approach reinforces the collaborative action initiated in this area by the TalentsA44 association, which aims to attract and retain talent in an industry that is struggling to recruit.
Carzilla is also very proud to have restored and allowed the little star of this 2022 edition, the 1957 BMW Isetta with the number 1, to proudly cross the finish line in Andorra.
