Federal-Mogul Motorparts Receives ‘Innovative Supplier of the Year Award’

Federal-Mogul Motorparts, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: FDML), has won the “Innovative Supplier of the Year Award” in the 11 February at the inaugural NEXUS Automotive International ceremony for its Eco- Friction® brake pads. The three day-long conference, hosted in Montreux, Switzerland, is presented by major auto parts distribution group, NEXUS Automotive International.

Eco-Friction is Federal-Mogul Motorparts environmentally-friendly, zero- and low-copper braking range. Developed as an OE technology for vehicle manufacturers, the product has since been launched into the aftermarket in 2015. Recent independent tests have shown that Eco-Friction pads are not only more ecological than copper-based components but also provide significant improvement in performance.

As a developer of the latest brake technologies, Federal-Mogul Motorparts invested five years of research and development with over 150 engineers testing more than 1500 raw materials to identify and develop a new eco-friendly, copper substitute. The technology is currently OE fitment on vehicles such as the Audi A4 and the Mercedes C-Class, with further OE announcements expected in 2016.
