Lambda sensors, 40 years of reduced consumption and emissions

To the present day more than 1 billion lambda sensors have been produced by Bosch. 415 million of them stem solely from the Bosch plant in Rutesheim, close to Leonberg (Germany).

The whole success story of lambda sensors is closely linked to this plant that started the production of the finger-type sensor in 1978. Nowadays the high-performance Bosch lambda sensors consist of a total of 20 components.

The plant in Rutesheim produces 80,000 lambda sensors for 231 customer plants on a single day. By now more than 1,000 different types of lambda sensors are produced – they differ for instance in terms of the length of the cable harness or different

connectors.

For 40 years now, the sophisticated production process and the use of innovative materials guarantee a long and flawless operation of Bosch lambda sensors.

Bosch lambda sensors:

  • Very long service-life
  • Perfect function
  • Optimal engine fitting
